Shamrock.jpg

Note: Because St. Patrick's Day resources aren't hard to find and you will probably be able to simply visit your favorite kids' site (such as Enchantedlearning.com) to find just what you want, I am not providing you with an extensive list of resources.  Here are just a few picks in case you are in a hurry and don't want to try to find something on your own.

Mom's Picks:

Apples 4 the Teacher - This site is bordered by Google ads, but provides a long list of links complete with desciptions to help you find what you need fast to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  Links include the history of the day, information about Ireland, coloring pages, symbols, reading lists and lots of other useful websites.

Kids Parties- St. Patrick's Day Page - This site provides a variety of printable activites and game ideas, plus a list of book suggestions and links to other resources.  Advertisements are present but unobtrusive.

NOBLE St. Patrick's Day Page - This website, provided by the North of Boston Library Exchange, includes links and descriptions for a number of websites. You may select from sites that review the history of the day, visit festivals around the world, or find special recipes or craft ideas.

Knowledge Quest St. Patrick's Day Unit Study

Other sites of note:

History Channel St. Patrick's Day - At the history channel site you can view a short video about the history of this holiday.  The site also provides a quiz, and additional information.  Note- beer is featured in the video, so you may want to pre-screen this site.

SunnieBunnieZZ St. Patrick's Day Page - This site provides you with a brief history of St. Patrick and the day named after him.  The site also has several printables and links for other resources.

Princeton Online Incredible St. Patrick's Day Page - While a bit ad heavy, this site does provide some interesting information and is geared toward an older student or adult reader.  The site also provides links to crafts and other lesson ideas for younger children.

A Wee Bit 'O Fun - Lessons from GeorgiaStandards.org for kindergarten social studies.
